Many nationalities can either get visa-free access for 2 weeks or apply for a visa on arrival at the airport. As such, you don’t need to apply for a visa before you visit Vietnam.
If you do intend to get a visa on arrival in Vietnam, then make sure you bring either US dollars in cash or Vietnamese Dong (VND).
Not for short term visas. However, if you intend to obtain a 6 to 12-month visa, you must present an invitation letter.
The invitation letter must be issued by a Vietnamese entity, such as a local manufacturer or trade fair organizer.
That said, you don’t need an invitation letter to attend a trade show for a few days.
Some people used to complain that very few people speak English in Vietnamese trade shows, including sales reps.
My impression is that this has changed significantly in the last few years, so you should not face issues when requesting quotations at a trade show.
At the time of writing, the Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi metro systems are still under construction. Most business people rely on the taxi app Grab, to get around the city, including to and from the trade shows.
You can download Grab via Google Play or the Apple App Store for free, and pay in cash or with your international credit card, after each ride.
