Is it usually less expensive to hire an outside mold manufacturer or to use the factory which is producing the product?
Hi Gidipo,
Most factories also use outside mold manufacturers, rather than making it in house.
Hi Fredrik, Would you say that it is usually less expensive to hire the mold manufacturer separately? Are there any risks to doing it this way?
Hi Gina,
I don’t think it’s less expensive to work directly with a mold manufacturer.
Yes, there are some risks, as there may be other components that must fit together. If the assembly supplier is not involved then you need to be sure that your technical drawings are correct.
Hi! Gidipo, You have a valid question. It is always better to go with a dedicated mould manufacturer with complete design, in-house production facility in stead of going with a company that produce products and moulds.
I need custom plastic parts made with modified HIPS.
