We can help you manufacture products in China, Vietnam & India?
Scams: Beware of scams involving medical products. The risk of payment fraud and delivery of non-compliant and/or inferior products is high at this time.
Export Bans: India and many other countries enforce export bans on certain medical supplies. Export bans enforced after you have placed an order can result in a total loss – or severe delay.
Here are our recommendations for importers planning to order medical products.
It’s currently a seller’s market for many medical products, with more demand than supply. Expect higher unit prices for more products.
The Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) requirements are also higher than normal. Some suppliers don’t accept orders valued less than USD 100,000.
Some suppliers may insist on a 100% prepayment, before starting production. We still advise that you only pay a 30% deposit and 70% balance after quality inspection and lab testing.
Medical devices and equipment are regulated in the United States and the European Union. Such regulations are there for a reason – to ensure that the product is not worthless (which is a risk) – and will not go away due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. You must request and verify test reports and other compliance documents (e.g. DoC) before placing an order.

Medical gloves, depending on the purposes, can be divided into surgical and examination gloves. In general, surgical gloves, which are used during operational procedures, have stricter and higher standards than examination gloves, which are used during blood drawing or physical examination. Materials that are used to produce medical gloves include latex, vinyl, and nitrile.
We have witnessed the increasing popularity of nitrile gloves in recent years in medical, pharmaceutical and food processing industries, for the synthetic rubber compound that makes nitrile has become more affordable.
Nitrile gloves are an ideal substitute for latex gloves in many situations since they are not as irritating as latex gloves to human skin, thus reducing the risk of allergies. In addition, nitrile gloves have a better performance resisting puncture, chemical, and oil than latex or vinyl gloves.
Also, nitrile gloves are also BPA and Phthalate free, chemical and puncture-resistant, water and oil proof, and generally speaking more flexible.
Conversely, they are more expensive than other gloves, and thicker, which might cause a reduced sensibility when performing complex tasks.
Latex gloves are made of natural rubber which gives them excellent performance in resisting tear, and water. They are also for-fitting and tactile, durable, and flexible.
Latex gloves are extensively used in hospitals, clinics, and medical institutions and are suitable to be used during examination and surgical processes due to its flexibility and skin fitting features.
However, latex gloves are not a good option for people who are allergic to rubber or cornstarch, which is used as lubricant powder for latex gloves. Also, they are often nonresistant to chemicals and punctures.
Vinyl gloves are made of polyvinyl chloride or polyvinyl alcohol. Vinyl gloves do not contain natural proteins, which is a preferable option for people who suffer from skin allergies caused by latex gloves.
Also, they are cheaper to produce compared to latex and nitrile gloves, oil and waterproof.
Vinyl gloves generally are not used as surgical gloves since they are not as form-fitting to the skin as latex and nitrile gloves and have worse performance in blocking off contaminations, bacteria, and germs. Also, they are non-resistant to chemical, puncture, corrosive matters, and easier to break compared to latex and nitrile gloves.
However, the thin, light and loose texture of vinyl gloves makes them popular for non-surgical medical setups, food processing industries, restaurants, DIY workshops and environments that do not require a high-standards for sterility.
Other than surgical gloves, examination gloves are widely used in hospitals, clinics and healthcare institutions for the purposes of protecting the patients and doctors from foul objects. For example, they are often used during blood drawing, testing, and physical examinations.
Examination gloves can be either sterilized or unsterilized and are more flexible in the sizes, thickness, and materials, while surgical gloves are generally sterilized and require some certified processes before they can be used in the hospitals.
Chemo medical gloves are designed for the purposes of protecting the wearer from exposure to chemical corrosion when handling chemotherapy drugs. Chemo gloves can be made of nitrile or polychloroprene.
In most cases, medical gloves are disposable and should be changed after being used for a period of time in order to prevent cross-infection and maintain sanitation. However, medical gloves might be reusable if they are specially made. In the US, the FDA forbids the reusing of medical gloves.
European Union
Medical gloves are regulated by the EU in the Medical Devices Directive. The Standard EN 455, harmonized under the directive, established testing methods for such products. In addition, some medical gloves are treated as Personal Protective Equipment and should conform to the PPE Directive, and comply with Standard EN 374.
United States
FDA regulates medical gloves manufactured and marketed in the US and such products should conform to the standards and requirements of 21 CFR 878.4460, for surgical gloves, and 21 CFR 880.6250, for other medical gloves.
