Can I expect lower prices compared to Chinese factories?

Malaysia has no advantage in terms of labor costs. Malaysian workers earn on average about as much as one in Mainland China.  Further, Malaysia is less self-sufficient when it comes to fabrics, zippers, velcro and other components – which are often actually imported from China or other countries in ASEAN.

As such, you should not expect any price cuts when sourcing clothing manufacturers in Malaysia. That said, the country still has a highly competitive clothing and textiles manufacturing base standing on its own merits.
