Looking for clothing manufacturers in Indonesia for your next design? While often overlooked as a textiles manufacturing country, Indonesia offers everything from major big brand contract manufacturers to Bali-based boutique print shops. What kind of clothing suppliers can I find in Indonesia?

The textiles industry is generally flexible in terms of product offering. In the end, it all comes down to procurement, cutting, and sewing. Here are some of the products manufactured by the listed suppliers:

How do I know which factory I should work with?

First, you need to look at the supplier’s product specialization. Clearly, you shouldn’t attempt to order skiing jackets from a swimwear factory – or vice versa. Second, small buyers are usually better off buying from small to medium-sized factories.

While many small brands would like to buy pieces from the same vendor as Quicksilver or Rip Curl, larger suppliers are rarely willing to deal with orders counted in the hundreds or even several thousand pieces.

The good thing is that Indonesia has room for both big and small buyers.

What do I need to prepare before I contact any of the listed suppliers?

While some manufacturers may have a limited range of standard products on offer, you are generally advised to prepare a complete techpack before you request a quotation from any of the listed suppliers.

These items should be included in your techpack:

  • Sewing patterns
  • Print and logo files
  • Material specification
  • Size chart
  • Care label file

I suggest you use a service like techpacker.com or a freelancer website such as Upwork.com If you or your team don’t have clothing design expertise.

Can I buy low volumes from Indonesian clothing suppliers?

Yes, some suppliers listed in this article set minimum order quantity (MOQ) requirements as low as 25 pcs per product.

Hey Frederik, for swimwear fabrics, I keep seeing one kind of fabrics that all swimwear manufacturers use. I have been searching for the producer of these fabrics for ages as I want to buy them directly from the manufacturer. Do you have any idea of who that is? Some called it Jayatex and it is a 80% Nylon / 20% Spandex – 200 g/m².
      Thanks so much
