Shifting production to factories in India? Then it’s in your best interest to reach out to one of the quality control firms listed in this article – ready to send out their agents to factories located across the great subcontinent.
Is it necessary to book a quality inspection when importing from India?
The risk of quality issues is always relatively high when outsourcing production to other countries, India included. Once the goods are shipped there’s no turning back, as there’s no simple legal or economically viable way to either request a refund or return the goods.
As such, quality controls are essentials when buying from Indian suppliers, even if your supplier has a solid track record and an established internal quality assurance program in place. You’ve only got one chance to get it right.
Given that many Indian factories have decades of experience, often far longer than their Chinese counterparts, and also tend to be more transparent – it’s easy to make the assumptions that quality checks are not necessary when buying textiles and other products from India.
But, remember that even the best company can make a mess out of your order – even without knowing it.
How much does a quality inspection in India cost?
Most companies charge somewhere between US$250 to US$400 per inspection day. In most cases, a one-day inspection is sufficient.

I have to say that you are amazing!!!
This is just what I was looking for , as my product is typically manufactured in India rather than China, ((although most sellers are manuf. in China)), and I have been feeling really scared about manufacturing my new line, new product in India, because I thought that only China has inspection companies but now that I have found this post and discovered all these inspection companies , I’m gonna go for it!!
Thank you soooooooo much Fredrik you are a star!
Tania
Thank you Tania, glad this guide helped you!
nice post!!!
Nice article! I use V-Trust for my suppliers in China and India and I really recommend it to be included in this list. I’ve used some of these you’ve listed but honestly, though their reports are similar, communication is really important and some of these companies failed to fully understand our basic requirements. Language barrier can’t really happen in this industry! Just saying!
Recently we’ve seen multiple commentors recommending V-Trust. Are you perhaps working for them?
If you want to get listed on our website it’s better you just ask us directly.
Thanks for recommending that one – I will look them up. As well as all the ones above and check their reviews!
